Shoshone Falls, ID

Shoshone Falls, known as the “Niagara of the West,” is one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in the (Inland) Pacific Northwest. Located on the Snake River just outside Twin Falls, Idaho, the falls plunge 212 feet—making them even taller than Niagara Falls—and span nearly 1,000 feet wide. The best time to visit is during spring, when snowmelt from the surrounding mountains causes the river to surge, creating a roaring display of power. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from well-maintained overlooks, explore nearby hiking trails, or even paddle below the falls for a unique kayaking experience.
